Game Ideas

Use with Any Board Game

Drop phonics dice into any board game you already own. Students read the face that lands up as part of their turn. Pair with custom board games from Tools for Educators or ready-to-print board games at MES English.

Points Game

Players roll and tally points over 6–10 rounds. Make 2 a "go again" roll, or play with two dice where doubles means bankruptcy. Simple, fast, and effective for repeated reading practice.

Yahtzee-Style

Make 5 dice per group. Players roll up to three times per turn, choosing which dice to keep, aiming for combinations (pairs, full house, five of a kind). Students read each die face aloud with every roll.
